as a fiber artist I fucking LOVE the sweater curse
it’s such a good litmus test for relationships
cause like…. would we feel certain that the sweater curse is going to affect us if we didn’t already know that our partner would take our skills and generosity for granted? would we know that the sweater curse was going to prove that we’re taken for granted if our partner wasn’t someone who asks “when are you going to make me x?”
it’s a litmus test- if you believe in the sweater curse and you think about making one for your partner and a little voice in the back of your head doesn’t say “but they’ve shown me they won’t be like this” then maybe think about some things

I’m increasingly worried by all the people on my dash calling themselves insane for loving stories in the way humans have loved stories our whole history. “The brain rot is spreading” — you mean you were changed by art? “I’m not normal about this” — you were moved by it? You felt human emotions about it? “I’m about to be so annoying” — you’re going to talk about art? You’re going to be passionate? You’re going to think deeply about it? You’re going to feel love for the work of someone’s soul? You are not a consumer and art is not a product to be casually used! You are a human and stories are the beating heart of our humanity! You must feel everything and you must know that it is normal!

i love it when characters are codependent. i love it when losing someone feels like losing a limb. i love it when two people “complete” each other so wholly and terribly that one can barely function without the other. i love it when the fear of losing the only person who understands them is so all-consuming they’ll destroy anything to stay together, including themselves.
